St. Albert the Great CYO offers travel volleyball for current high school students. Students must be members of St. Albert the Great Parish. No experience playing volleyball is required. This is an opportunity to reconnect with your grade school friends and enjoy a low-pressure sporting experience.
This is a CO-ED sport — all teams must be co-ed and all games must be played with both boys and girls on the court. There are usually 2 to 4 teams, generally broken out by grade. Each parish plays an “A” team and one or more “B” teams, depending on the registration numbers.
Students under age 18 must be registered by a parent/guardian. League games start at the end of March and run through the end of May.
Games are scheduled on Sunday nights and Tuesday nights from the end of March through the end of May. Practices are generally once a week, as scheduled by the coach. Most games are played at the St. Albert’s home court, but some games will be played at other Region 11 courts.
Coaches over the age of 21 are always needed. Experience playing volleyball, while beneficial, is definitely not required. Each team MUST have a coach. Up-to-date clearances will be required for all coaches. Please contact the commissioner if you are willing to assist with coaching.
The Archdiocese of Philadelphia has mandated that all CYO teams register through the SI Play website: https://stalbertthegreat.siplay.com
